For Every Kind of Love

February has been dubbed the month of love. But does it truly earn the name?

Right after dry January or what feels more like recovery January, who was in the room when it was collectively decided the very next month should be filled with heart-shaped expectations? Did they simply forget about taking things slow before stepping into the pressure of grand gestures?

And yet, regardless of consensus, February does something to us. It nudges us to think about the different avenues of love that exist.

1. Love of Life

The kind that catches us off guard.

The sun resting on our skin. The feeling of movement. The reminder that this is a beautiful existence we get to participate in. It shows up in bright hues that mirror that warmth, like the bold optimism of Shani in Sunflower. Remembering that being here at all is something to celebrate.

2. Love for Self

Not as a slogan. As a practice.

Speaking kindly to ourselves. Choosing well-being over burnout. Remembering that the perfect accessory has always been a smile. Taking ‘look good, feel good’ seriously. Not for validation, but for alignment. Slipping into pieces that feel like second skin, like our unitards.

3. Love for People

According to statistics, we do not tell each other “I love you” enough. I may not know who ran the numbers, but I feel the truth in it.

So maybe February is a reminder. A reminder to say it more. To return to sentiment. To let our love take tangible form in a handwritten note. Maybe that is where the assorted card sets come in. Not as stationery, but as invitation. More reasons to write. More people to love out loud.
